The New Haven Free Public Library Community Summer Learning Program launches on Saturday, June 12 and runs through September 3 at all library locations. The annual Summer Learning Program is designed to advance literacy and transform lives by providing free, fun, family-friendly programs and services all summer long.
New features for summer 2021:
- Summer Learning is for all ages. Teams of up to six people of any age are invited to participate.
- At least one member of each team must have a valid NHFPL library card.
- Drawings for prizes will be completed at the end of the program and all eligible teams will be entered to win.
Participants can register in-person at any New Haven Free Public Library location, by phone by calling 203-946-8129, or online to receive a reading log to record every book read, library program attended, community learning opportunity attended (such as a museum visit), or writing project submitted (such as a poem or book review). Each learning activity earns 1 point and each participant must earn a minimum of 20 points to complete the program. Teams in which all members have achieved 20 points will be eligible for prize drawings at the end of the program.
Eligible entries will be collected and entered into two (2) drawings for prizes that will be awarded to the TEAM to be shared among members. The first drawing is for one (1) of two (2) prizes from your preferred branch indicated on the registration form (10 branch prizes total will be awarded). The second drawing is for one (1) of six (6) grand prizes from across the NHFPL system.
At least one (1) member of each team submitting an entry MUST have a valid New Haven Free Public Library card. Teams lacking a valid card issued by the New Haven Free Public Library will be disqualified. Need a card? We can help with that! Only one entry per team will be accepted. Drawings will occur the week of September 12, 2021.
