Simplifying the Job Search with JobNow

Looking to create or review a resume? Looking for a second set of eyes? Job searching can be difficult in several ways. Creating a resume is another thing on the typical job seekers to do list. You might be asking: “Where do I start?”

“What should my cover letter sound like?”

“Who should I use as references?”

Be assured that resources exist and are available to you. While our staff is always happy to help, NHFPL also has a collection of e-resources that you can access as a library patron directly through our website.

Navigate from our home page (www.nhfpl.org) to → How Do I? → Research → E-Resources

Listed below the “Jobs & Careers” section of the list, you’ll find a hidden gem called JobNow.

Using JobNow, you can:

• Work with a JobNow coach every day after 3 pm via chat for support with interviewing, job searching, or resume writing;
• Download Word documents of resume templates in a variety of formats and styles;
• Access external resources such as a translator, writing tutorials, career discovery tools, career assessments, and job matching assistance;
• Submit a copy of your existing resume and have a resume reviewer give you feedback;
and more…

The best part? It’s free with your NHFPL library card!

If you have difficulty using a computer or the internet, call us or ask a library staff member in person for support doing this. We have public PCs available at all of our locations that you can access with your NHFPL library card. We also have free WiFi at every location – please feel free to bring your own devices. You will be able to use Microsoft Word or other web-based word processing applications. We also have printing available.

If you feel that you need a on-on-one appointment to learn this tool, you can submit a request online or you can call your local branch to set up an appointment with a staff member.
