This September, the New Haven Free Public Library (NHFPL) invites you to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month! Learn how one card opens the door to endless opportunities!
With your NHFPL library card, you already have access to books, digital resources, cultural programs, and more. Explore some of those services and e-resources below!

Explore our Local History collection at the Ives Main Library or use the New Haven Memory Lab to digitize your own documents and history, ensuring they last for years to come.

Discover the Library of Things, located in Ives Squared at the Ives Main Library. From everyday essentials to specialized tools, it’s your go-to destination for items you can borrow and enjoy at home.

Located at the Ives Main Library, the Passport office provide services for the application of US passports, passport cards, and both US and international passport photos. Learn more and schedule an appointment below!

Seed libraries are a resource for anyone looking to grow their own vegetables, herbs or flowers. They both offer and accept free seeds to share with the community. In addition to seeds, they can provide you with information & connect you to resources to help you in your gardening journey!

NHFPL cardholders now have free access to Mango Languages, an award-winning language-learning platform offering more than 70 world languages. Highlights include: Real-world conversations with native-speaker audio, personalized learning paths and vocabulary review tools, cultural notes and authentic content like Mango Movies, and (NEW) American Sign Language (ASL), with video modeling, cultural and grammar notes, and innovative features like Magic Mirror for visual comparison!

With your library card, borrow and download movies, videos, music, ebooks, and audiobooks on Hoopla and Libby.

Need homework help? Younger readers can enjoy Bookflix storybooks paired with nonfiction e-books, while older students can find trusted, peer-reviewed journals on science, arts, medicine, languages, and more with Academic Search Premier.
