Eric Rey is dedicated to creating spaces of belonging, learning early on in his career that he is drawn to the immense transformational healing power of human connection.

The Ives Squared Entrepreneur-in-Residence, or EIR, is a resident entrepreneur with the experience and connections needed to get you started in your business journey. The EIR position was created to help give a personal helping hand to patrons as they continue to create, mold, and establish their ventures.

Our current EIR is Eric Rey, who offers free monthly programs to the community to help a greater audience learn about and access what the library provides. Rey uses these programs and his office hours to spread his expertise to the public on various topics in business and entrepreneurship.

The EIR is especially knowledgeable about what it takes to start a business with just an idea and a dream, so the one-on-one office hours are beneficial to entrepreneurs at all levels--those just starting, those looking to pivot or grow, and anyone looking for entrepreneurial assistance.

“The library tremendously improved our ability to fundraise and grow our business' customer base. It also enables us to utilize machines that would otherwise be expensive to purchase, to create art and products to be sold.”

Jeanette Munoz-Allam
Director of Grants and Special Projects at The Kennedy Center Inc.

"Librarians have helped me with a whole host of tasks, like printing posters, hosting focus groups, conducting outreach to patrons, and introducing me to dozens of thought leaders in New Haven. I feel so supported, loved, and protected by the staff at Ives Squared."

Marina Marmolejo
Founder of Dreamkitapp.com

Former EIR for Ives Squared, February 2021
