Have you always wanted to learn how to make a book? Learn to sew a 1 section pamphlet with an accordion fold-out page, then adapt it into a hardcover book embellished with decorative paper. For people ages 15 and up. All material is provided. Registration is required. Please only sign up for one session.

Paulette Rosen is the head of the Book Arts Department at Creative Arts Workshop. She is a lifelong artist and teaches individuals of all ages.

Are you a writer interested in publishing your work? Join local women authors as they discuss their books and enlighten us about the publication process! Come ready to learn and ask questions!

A.C.E Bauer was born and raised in Montreal. She took a break from writing while she was a lawyer but has returned to fiction and writes for children of all ages.

Monica Ong is an author and winner of the Kore Press First Book Award in poetry. She is a Kundiman poetry fellow and graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design.

Janae Marks is the author of the critically acclaimed novel From the Desk of Zoe Washington, the New York Times bestseller On Air with Zoe Washington, and A Soft Place to Land.

Chandra Prasad is the author of the young adult novel Mercury Boys, a 2022 Connecticut Book Award finalist. She is the editor of—and a contributor to—the W.W. Norton anthology Mixed.

Barb Nangle is a boundaries coach, speaker, podcast host, author and the Founder and CEO of Higher Power Coaching and Consulting, LLC.

Martha Seif Simpson is the author of five library resource books. She has also written three published picture books. Her next picture book, A Ring for a King, will be published in 2025.

Alma Thomas was a renowned modern Black painter known for her exuberant and colorful abstract paintings. Come and create a beautiful stone mosaic inspired by her works! Please note that the stepping stones must set and be grouted before they can be used, so stepping stones will be left to set over the weekend and may be picked up at Ives on 6/25/24. For people ages 15 and up. Registration is required.

Join us to learn the art of crafting stunning, one-of-a-kind jewelry to wear or share as thoughtful gifts! In this program, you can create a set of earrings, a pendant, a keychain, and more! Learn how to work with clay tools and create a slab design. For people ages 15 and up. Registration is required.
