The NHFPL invites library users ages 0-12 to read and attend exciting library programs and community events all summer long! Participants can track their activities in their reading and activity log beginning May 30 through August 22!
Goal: Read 1200 minutes this summer!

Read and attend exciting library programs and community events all summer long! Participants can play our BINGO game to win up to 3 free books, a tote bag, and entry into our Grand Prize raffle for a $100 Edge of the Woods gift card. (Limit to one winner per raffle)

Teen Game Club | Ives Main Library
Tuesdays, June 2, 9, and 16, 2-5:30 pm
Fridays, June 5 and 12, 2-4:45 pm
Hang out with your friends and get to play against other teens at Teen Game Club every Wednesday and Friday! Everything from our card games (Uno, Sushi Go!, Monikers, etc.) to our video games (Switch & Xbox One) will be available to play. Feel free to also bring your own games! Open to grades 7-12, no registration required.
Teen Fiber Arts Club | Ives Main Library
Wednesdays, 3-5 pm
Get creative with yarn, thread, and more at Fiber Arts Club, now meeting on Wednesdays! While amigurumi (the art of crocheting small stuffed creatures) is still a favorite, all fiber arts are welcome! Whether you knit, embroider, sew, or just want to learn something new. Materials are provided, or feel free to bring your own project. Open to students in grades 7–12. No registration required, just drop in and create!
Homeschool Teen Book Club | Mitchell Branch
Wednesday, June 10, 11 am-12 pm

Help us Close the Books on the “Summer Slide”!

Does your child need additional help with reading this summer? Register for READy for the Grade!
This six-week intensive summer reading program helps bridge your child’s reading gaps and prevent “summer slide” through one-on-one and small group instruction with certified New Haven school teachers. Last year’s program had a 100% success rate! ALL participants maintained their reading level and 88% improved their reading skills!
The program is available at three NHFPL locations: Fair Haven Branch, Stetson Branch, and Wilson Branch.
