Mardi Gras 2021 Goes Virtual

Join us on Fat Tuesday to celebrate Black poetry at the New Haven Free Public Library’s annual Mardi Gras fundraiser! Watch FREE on Facebook or YouTube at 7PM on February 16.

Mardi Gras highlights the Library’s role as a vital source of connection in our community featuring:

  • Appearances from local literati
  • A conversation with extraordinary poets Toi Derricotte, Cornelius Eady, and Reginald Dwayne Betts
  • The Library’s Noah Webster Award presented to Elsie B. Chapman
  • And a special announcement about the campaign for the new Stetson Library!

Donations to the New Haven Free Public Library during Mardi Gras provide the digital tools, e-resources, virtual programs, and online learning materials our community relies on, ensuring all New Haven residents have access to the information they need to stay safe, informed, and engaged. Make a gift!
