Get Connected with the DEEP Laptop ConneCT Program

Need a laptop for school, work, job searching, or staying connected? The New Haven Free Public Library is participating in the DEEP Laptop ConneCT Program, which provides qualifying New Haven residents with long-term access to a Dell Pro 16 laptop.
Eligible participants can borrow a laptop for up to five years, with the possibility of owning the device after that period. Each laptop comes with a five-year warranty that includes accidental damage protection, battery replacement, and more.
Who Can Participate?
To qualify, you must:
- Be 18 or older
- Be a New Haven resident
- Have a current NHFPL Adult Library Card (eCards do not qualify for this program. Participants must have a current Adult Library Card.)
- Currently participate in a qualifying assistance program, including:
- Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
- Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)
- Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
- Medicare
- HUSKY Health (Medicaid/CHIP)
What Do I Need to Do?
Attend a sign-up event at your nearest library location. At the sign-up, you will:
- Provide physical documentation showing that you currently participate in a qualifying program. (Your documents must indicate the year 2026.)
- Complete an intake survey.
Please note that signing up does not guarentee a laptop. You must provide the required documentation, complete the intake survey, and complete the training class before you are eligible to receive a device.
Where Can I Sign Up?
During September, sign-up events are taking place at Ives Main Library. Additional tabling events will take place at other Library locations after September.
- Tuesday, September 28 from 11 am-1 pm | Ives Main Library
- Friday, October 9 from 10 am-3 pm | Ives Main Library
- Tuesday, October 20 from 2-4 pm | Wilson Library – CANCELED
- Wednesday, October 21 from 2-4 pm | Fair Haven Library – CANCELED
What’s included?
Each laptop includes a charger, Microsoft Windows, and a five-year device warranty. The laptops do not include home internet service or Microsoft Office. Participants can connect to available Wi-Fi or another internet connection, and free Wi-Fi is available at all NHFPL locations.
