May 24 and 25–Don’t Spread Lead workshops–Friday, 8 am-noon, at Grand Paint & Floor Covering (451 Grand Ave, New Haven) and  Saturday, 9 am-1 pm at Harbor Freight Tools (84 Whalley Ave, New Haven). Learn about dangers of poisoning and other health risks caused by lead in the paint of old houses and a lot of city soil.

May 28, 1 pm–Stage.Page.Engage, a community conversation about race and real estate in New Haven, a collaboration with Long Wharf Theatre, at Wilson Branch. Local historians Colin Caplan and Thomas Ficklin  lead a discussion following a dramatic scene from Clybourne Park, now playing at Long Wharf. Free and open to public.

May 29, 7:30-9:30 am–Christian Community Action Business Breakfast presentation, “Economic Recovery: For Some, But Not For All?”  with economist and Yale lecturer Dr. Nicholas Perna, in Community Room at Gateway Community College, New Haven. $35/$15 students.  Register at 203-777-7848 x 19.

June 1, 1 pm–Stage. Page. Engage. Local historians Colin Caplan and Thomas Ficklin offer a series of neighborhood-centric conversations about race, gentrification and the evolving neighborhood in New Haven, at Fair Haven Branch. A brief scene from Long Wharf Theatre’s current offering, Clybourne Park, inspires the dialogue. Presented as a collaboration between the library and the Long Wharf Theatre.

June 8, noon-5 pm (rain or shine)—Audubon Arts on the Edge, free music, dance, circus performances, arts-and-crafts activities, and interactive educational programs for all ages. Audubon Street (New Haven) itself will morph into a meandering chalk mural; play on an “instrument petting zoo,” create art on a giant painting wall,  make useable art from recycled materials.
