Each year kids in Connecticut vote for the Nutmeg Book Awards!
We’re challenging you to read as many nominee books as you can in the Elementary and Intermediate categories before voting happens in April.

EARN FREE BOOKS!  

Just read:

5 nominees from the Elementary list  or

3 nominees from the Intermediate list

GET A TICKET TO OUR SPECIAL NUTMEG VOTING PARTY APRIL 29th!

7 nominees from the Elementary list or

5 nominees from the Intermediate list

There will be games, snacks, and voting. For every nominated book you read you’ll get a raffle ticket to win cool prizes! Even if you already voted at your school you can still come and celebrate with us!

Or you can cast your vote at the library anytime in April for your favorite book in each category.

How to Sign Up
We’re using Wandoo to track the program online. If you used Wandoo for our summer learning program you can use the same username and password to log-in, if you forgot them stop by the library for us to look them up.

You can sign up for both if you want, you will get raffle tickets for the prizes at the party for each book you read, reading all of the nominees from both lists would give you 25, a lot of chances for prizes!

You can find copies of the books at the New Haven Free Public Library, see our catalog here for Elementary nominees and here for Intermediate nominees. Electronic versions as audiobooks or ebooks are also available with your library card on the state’s OneClickDigital Database here.
