Get ready for Shubert’s Children Series with our Clifford Library Program. Fun, interactive workshop geared toward children 3-8. We will read Clifford the Big Red Dog and do an activity tied in with the book. Each child will be able to pick a free book to take home, courtesy of Read to Grow. No registration necessary.

Bring your favorite teddy bear and get your picture taken with Paddington Bear! Brought to you by the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness be homeful project.

STEAM Time for 3rd-6th Graders | Thurs. 10/15, 10/22, 10/29 and 11/15 | Ives Main | 4:00-5:00
Science, Technology, Education, Arts and Math = STEAM! This four week series features a different fun experiment each week. No registration necessary; come to one or all the classes! Come meet Paddington Bear! He will be making a very special appearance at the Wilson Library. Bring your teddy and take a picture with him. We will also have a Paddington story time.
Popcorn Party | Sat., Oct. 17th | Ives Main | 2:00-3:00
Come celebrate National Popcorn Popping Month by exploring the history, science, and, of course, taste of popcorn. We’ll do experiments, make corn husk crafts, and pop some popcorn. Ages 5 and up.
Africa is Me | Sat., Oct. 17th | Stetson | 1:00-4:00
Celebrating the roots, history and rich culture of African Americans featuring: African Drum Circle, African Dance and Song, African Arts and Crafts, African Storytelling. Snacks provided. All ages.
Make a Lighthouse Nightlight | Sat., Oct. 17th | Mitchell | 4:00-5:00
Make a wooden lighthouse night light with the Eli Whitney Museum. Ages 5 and up! Registration required, space is limited: 203-946-8117
Conversations About Dance | Thurs., Oct. 22nd | Fair Haven | 3:30
BalletHaven dancers and students from Melinda Marquez Flamenco Dance Center perform and discuss their study of flamenco and ballet. We will have live music. For all ages.
Firefighter Fun! | Sat., Oct. 24th | Ives Main | 2:00
Local author Brigid Carney will read from her new book The Jake House about being a firefighter in 1896 New Haven. One lucky kid will get a copy to take home! Learn fire safety tips and we may have a visit from a real fire engine!
Halloween Party and Costume Parade | Sat., Oct. 24th | Mitchell | 3:00
Have a spOOktacular good time! Enjoy a scary story, make cool crafts and a healthy snack. Come in your costumes for a Halloween parade around the library.

Join us in the village for stories, crafts and make a fun snack with Kidz Kook! We will have goody bags and book giveaways for everyone courtesy of Read to Grow and the Village of Power, Hill Health Center. Costumes are welcomed.
Cinderella Craft and Movie | Wed., Oct 28th | Mitchell | 3:00
Come to the library for a great after school program! We will make a royal crafts project and watch the new Disney Cinderella movie afterwards.
Halloween Story Time and Parade | Thurs., Oct. 29th | Ives Main | 11:00
Join us in a special Halloween story time, costumes encouraged! We’ll share spooky fun stories, songs, and throw a parade to show off our costumes. No tricks, just treats!

Come dressed up for a Halloween parade and watch The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown.  We will also be having a special performance by our local double dutch group.  There will be snacks, candy, and more.
